DAY 1: LIMA | Welcome to Peru!

Welcome to Peru!
Your adventure begins when you get picked up at the airport by a local representative that will welcome you and accompany you to your hotel. Your hotel is located in the trendy area of Miraflores.
Welcome meeting at 14:00.
After the meeting head out for a orientation walk of the area led by your knowledgeable tour leader. In the evening optional group dinner.
DAY 2: LIMA | A Taste of Peru

Lima is the Culinary Capital of South America, and your trip is not complete until you taste what the city has to offer.
Be prepared to enjoy, taste and be happy! with a hands-on experience.
The rest of the day is free to explore the area or opt for additional activities.
DAY 3: SACRED VALLEY | Land of the Incas

This morning you will take a flight to Capital of the Inca Empire: Cusco. The journey by plane is impressive as it crosses the Andes.
Upon arrival to the airport you will meet your guide and we will drive directly to the Sacred Valley, crossing beautiful rural areas and enjoying amazing views of the valley.
You will enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.
Overnight in the Sacred Valley.
DAY 4: SACRED VALLEY | Amazing Views

Enjoy a full day in exploring ancient Inca sites and also stunningly beautiful mountain scenery and colourful farmland.
Then, enjoy a true hidden gem experience at Mountain View, with a delicious picnic lunch. An invitation to soak in the natural beauty of the Andes.
DAY 5: INCA TRAIL DAY 1 | Let the adventure begin

Today, you are off to a trek of a lifetime. Pick up is included from your accommodation, travel by van to km 82 where we will begin our trek. Passport needed it here.
The pace of the day will be an acclimatisation rhythm and soon we will stop at our first archaeological site called Llactapata located at 2,550 masl. After free time to explore on your own enjoy a delicious lunch & rest in Tunas Moco before continuing our walk to Wayllabamba camp.
Ease into the adventure admiring the changing scenery, the streams of water and the Inca sites we will pass by.

Our Inca Trail crew (porters, cooks and guides) will take over the organisation of the hike during the following days and they will carry the luggage as well, you will only need to carry a small daypack with water, snacks, rain gear, your camera, etc.

DAY 6: INCA TRAIL DAY 2 | Dead Woman’s Pass

After breakfast we will begin our walk through the Valley of Wayllabamba (this will be the most challenging day of the hike), on our journey we will be able to observe nature and the ecological change of the area until we arrive to Yunca Chipana from where we will climb to Llulluchapampa. Trek progressively the steep terrain, enjoy the magnificent views of the valley of Huayanay, continue to our highest point of the hike located at 4,200 masl/ 2,610 ft: Warmiwañusca or “Dead Woman’s” pass. Enjoy lunch in Pacaymayo Alto. Descend.
*Most hikers arrive at the campsite in the early afternoon with plenty of time for a long rest and relaxing evening.

DAY 7: INCA TRAIL DAY 3 | Spectacular passes

Well done, you have overcome the most challenging day! After a good night’s rest a beautiful rewards awaits. This is a beautiful day filled with amazing views, a longer day but totally worth it.
After breakfast, we will ascend to Runkurakay pass at 3,860 masl / 2,389 ft. We will visit another small Inca site, Sayacmarca and appreciate the valleys and snow-capped mountains of the Cordillera de Vilcabamba. The scenery starts to change and soon you will trek through the cloud forest, we will stop to visit the archeological site of Phuyupatamarca or the “Town Above the Clouds”, lunch here.
Then descend 3 hours until we arrive at a place called Wiñawayna “Forever Young”, visit this beautiful Inca site and finally arrive to Intipata where we will camp.

- Hiking time: 7 to 8 hours

DAY 8: INCA TRAIL DAY 4 | The Sun Gate and Machu Picchu

Rise in the early morning before the sun is up as we will reach the Sun Gate before sunrise. We will be one of the first groups to cross the control point. Catch the first views of the impressive Lost City of the Incas: Machu Picchu.

DAY 9: CUSCO | Discover Cusco

Cusco attracts thousands of travellers who are drawn to this ancient city which has a lot to offer. It is the perfect base for optional explorations around the city, you can choose to keep it low key and dive into the local markets and grab a cup of coffee in a cozy cafe, or go all out for a range of outdoor activities including: hiking, ATVs, etc.
DAY 10: DEPARTURE DAY | Farewell to Peru

There are no activities planned today.
The trip ends after breakfast.
This is not goodbye, but see you later.
